About Me

Background

Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, my family moved to the red rock of southern Utah when I was still young. So I grew up in Cedar City, Utah, an hour or so of Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park and Cedar Breaks National Monument.

After graduating high school I served an LDS mission, spending two years living and serving in Santa Rosa, California and the surrounding area. I spent my time sharing our beliefs with the Spanish population in Santa Rosa, Healdsburg, Fairfield, Vacaville, Vallejo and San Rafael.

Schooling

When I returned I enrolled in school at Southern Utah University, in Cedar City, with Illustration as my declared major. I studied traditional drawing, painting, and printmaking. And with a few friends, published a comic book that we sold around campus. And when I say published I mean that we went to the local copy shop, made copies and stapled them together.

I also spent some time at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah studying in their new Multimedia Technology program. I was especially fond of the non-linear video editing and script analysis classes.

I received an Associates degree in Computer Graphics & Multimedia from Utah Career College, now Broadview University, in 2002. Here is where I was introduced to the digital age of art. Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere and Flash among others.

Presently

During the course of these years I met a wonderful young lady and her two children. We ended up marrying after a whirlwind romance of just a few months. Now we have been together for nearly six years.

Recently I decided to return to school to pursue my Bachelor's degree. So I am now attending the Art Institute of Salt Lake City studying Web Design & Interactive Media. The courses have been enjoyable and I have learned much about; Javascript, writing for the web, marketing, Flash & Actionscript 3, as well as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. My planned graduation date is Spring 2012.

Work Philosophies

When I work I try to work quickly to meet deadlines and be on time without sacrificing quality. Keeping up my attention to detail helps to achieve these goals because I only have to do things once with minor revisions.
